The big news this week...I have formally asked Le's parents for permission
to marry her and they have agreed...
There really is not a lot that I can say to express the feeling that I
am having at the moment but, the best that I can say is Suong Qua...(I am very happy)...Le is very, very happy too, as now
that her parents have accepted me into the family Le and the boys and me of course will always be welcome in their house...family
is very, very important to Vietnamese people and I wanted this to be done well and it has been...there will be a formal Engagement
party soon, because of Le's fathers ill health we have to be quite careful to choose a nice warm day (they are a bit scarce
at the moment)...and it will have to be close to his house as he does not travel well...all of Le's family that live in Ha
Noi will be there, so there is a lot of organizing to do...
We took the family out to lunch for the engagement party...unfortunately it was very cold and
it was a very short lunch...but we will have plenty of time to celebrate before we leave for New Zealand...
I went to dinner on Sunday with Le and Nhan, also at the lunch
will be Le's Law teacher, Ly Anh, the Head of the Law Faculty at Ha Noi Law University, Mai Anh, and lastly The
Head of Foreign Child Adoption Services with the Ministry of Justice, Mr Long...
On Saturday some friends of ours, San and Lan Anh and family went
back to Germany...they are really nice people and we both are looking forward to seeing them again...
You will notice down at the bottom of the page there is a link to
a Guestbook...this is new and maybe if you don't have time for an email, a quick message in the guestbokk would be greatly
appreciated...we read the emails all the time and love to hear from you...the Guestbook will be on every page from now on...
